Hill Country Community Dixie Land Jazz Ensemble

Composed of 8 musicians who are members of the Hill Country Community Band. They have performed for a number of civic community events throughout Hays and Travis counties. Their repertoire includes both familiar and traditional Dixieland arrangements geared to the listening and dancing pleasures for their audiences.

Karen Abrahams

Award winning singer songwriter, Karen Abrahams, has been noted for her powerful voice and songwriting ability. Texas born, she performs Americana music at its best, including Texas swing, country, bluegrass, and old swing jazz from the 30’s. She tours Europe as well as the U.S. She has four Cd’s out as well as “Best of Kerville” compilation CD and one of the chapters and women featured in “Texas Women Singer Songwriters” book, by Peabody award winner, Kathleen Hudson.”

Bill Paige

A graduate of Chicago’s celebrated Old Town School of Folk Music, Bill Paige has been singing and playing guitar since the late 1960s. Since moving to Dripping Springs in 2010 he has performed at Founders Day and the Nutty Brown Cafe. Recent musical adventures include playing with Jeff Tweedy of Wilco; workshops with Bill Kirchen at Fur Peace Ranch; playing mandolin for a community theater production of Fiddler on the Roof; and appearing in a hip-hop video, “Prosperity,” by Rhymefest. A professional writer and editor, Paige also hosts a weekly radio show, 7-10 a.m., Fridays, on KDRP-FM (www.kdrplive.org).

Austin Community College jazz band. They were asked to play at the White House.
